Week 1: Interesting Soft Materials

Stress/fidget toy: Gets its softness from its material and form. The outside later feels like silicone, and inside are what feel like beads. It’s an interesting and slightly weird combination of materials.

Sink: Gets its softness from its form. This is interesting to me because at first look, something metal and shiny shouldn’t be able to bend, but because of the way the metal is woven together, it’s able to move in unexpected ways.

Yarn: Gets its softness from its material. Yarn is interesting to me because of the variety of weights and types it comes in, and how those differences can have an impact on the look and feel of what I make with it.

Bath towel: Gets its softness from its material + form. I like that the material has texture to it, aside from the regular towel feel.
